MODON says 36 Saudi industrial cities log investments worth SAR 370 bln

The number of industrial cities in Saudi Arabia reached 36, with more than 4,000 factories, according to the data issued by the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON).

 

The total number of contracts in the industrial cities amounted to nearly 6,587, with investments worth SAR 370 billion. In addition, the number of employees in the industrial cities stood at nearly 500,000, of whom 184,000 are Saudi males and 17,000 are Saudi females.

 

Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, said MODON is one of the most important tools for enabling the national industry to create an ideal investment environment equipped with the latest technologies that meet the aspirations of MODON's partners in 36 local industrial cities.

 

He added that this will help a large number of entrepreneurs to launch their industrial projects.

Riyadh came first with eight industrial cities, followed by the Eastern Province and Makkah with seven industrial cities each.
