Loans from Saudi govt specialized credit institutions rise to SAR 237.4 bln in Q4 2020

The loans granted by government specialized credit institutions edged up 0.4% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 237.39 billion in Q4 2020, according to the data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA).

 

When compared to the third quarter of 2020, these loans increased by SAR 2.39 billion.

 

The loans granted by government specialized credit institutions hit a three and a half year high in Q4 2020, namely since Q2 2017 when they hit SAR 239.15 billion.

 

They include the loans granted by the Real Estate Development Fund (REDF), Agricultural Development Fund, Social Development Bank and the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF).

REDF loans accounted for 65%, or SAR 155.02 billion of total loans. SIDF came second with 20%, or SAR 48.09 billion worth of loans.

 

On a quarterly basis, REDF loans decreased by nearly SAR 939 million, while SIDF loans increased by SAR 397 million.
