Dur Hospitality Co.’s ongoing expansion projects will add up to 3,441 new rooms to its portfolio, according to Hassan Ahdab, the company’s president (hotels operations).
“The Saudi hospitality sector took the lead in giving a swift response to the challenges resulting from the COVID-19 outbreak,” Ahdab said in a statement on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market 2021 in Dubai.
Dur fully renovated Makarem Ajyad Makkah Hotel to boost the expected growth in line with the Vision 2030 to accommodate more pilgrims by 2030, he noted.
Similarly, Dur launched Riyadh Airport Marriott Hotel expansion project last year, and is completing the renovation of Crowne Plaza Riyadh Palace, in addition to a portfolio of ongoing hotel and real estate projects in Riyadh, Jeddah and Madinah.
Dur also unveiled plans to implement a number of expansion projects over the coming period, and improve services to fulfill the new market aspirations, in line with the Kingdom’s plan to mitigate the repercussions of COVID-19 outbreak.
Additionally, Shada Hospitality, Dur’s 60%-owned subsidiary, is in the process of implementing several expansion plans to add 790 rooms.
