The Saudi Ministry of Education announced today the preliminary arrangements for the return to in-person attendance at education facilities starting from the new academic year 2021/2022.

These arrangements include the return of the teaching staff to public and private schools, universities and vocational facilities, starting from the new academic year. Vaccination will be verified through Tawakkalna application and will be a pre-requisite for entering all buildings affiliated to the Ministry of Education.

The return of all students of public and private universities, as well as facilities affiliated to the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) will be conditional on the good health of students.

Vaccination against COVID-19 will be a requirement for the return to in-person attendance for new students in universities, colleges, and TVTC in the new academic year.

Furthermore, the return of students to public and private schools will be in accordance with the approved operational models, to be announced duly. The age categories targeted by the decision to resume in-person attendance will also be defined, in coordination with the Ministry of Health. Student density in schools and other facilities will be also taken into account.
