Non-profit sector initiatives ‘on right track’ to achieve Vision 2030 goals: Al-Rajhi

The initiatives by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) in the non-profit sector are on the right track, in line with Vision 2030, Al Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing HRSD Minister Ahmed Al-Rajhi.

 

The National Transformation Program (NTP) comprises strategic goals, which are meant to boost social responsibility and charity work.

 

Specialized entities account for 63% of non-profit organizations (NPOs), while non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have a corporate governance of 80%.

 

There are 27 government entities technically supervising a directory of 117 classifications of NGOs, which helped increasing the sector organizations to 3,300 currently.

 

The state-owned entities are now able to sign contracts with the NGOs, in line with Saudi government tenders and procurement regulations, the minister indicated.

 

The Saudi Cabinet approved on June 1, 2021, the organization of the National Center for the Development of the Non-Profit Sector, Argaam reported.
