Abdullah Asiri, Assistant Deputy Minister for preventive health, said delaying the second dose stimulates immunity in some COVID-19 vaccines.
He added that there is no ideal interval between the two doses, noting that the delay of the second dose for some people is in the public interest, which should not raise any concerns, especially as some countries made three or four months as an interval between the two doses.
Asiri pointed out that there are several factors that can affect the scheduling of the second dose, such as the epidemiological situation and demographics, stressing that the second dose is not a prerequisite for travel.
