Saudi students deserve advanced education system to enhance skills, says minister

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Education, Hamad Al Al-Sheikh, said that students in the Kingdom deserve an advanced education system that will fulfill their ambitions, invests in their abilities and skills, and enhances their participation to serve the homeland.

 

The goal of the development of curricula, school plans, and the application of secondary courses and the three-semester system is to build a person who possesses 21st century skills, requirements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and future jobs, participation in national development, and global competitiveness, SPA quoted Al Al-Sheikh as saying.

 

This represents the first phase of the ongoing development of the education system and upgrading the education process in accordance with global best practices.

 

The minister pointed out that the development in education is not a formality, but a real development, which is substantial and deep, and everyone’s partnership.

 

He further explained that the development of curricula and study plans will improve the Kingdom's results in international tests, close the gap between the years of educational ladder and the actual years of study, in addition to bridging the gap between the education system in the Kingdom with developed countries.

 

From the next academic year, e-learning that supports education withing the school premises will be expanded, and integrated learning solutions will be implemented to enhance skills, Al Al-Sheikh concluded.
