Sahara International Petrochemical Co. headquarters
Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) announced today, June 23, the completion of the scheduled maintenance works at its affiliate Sahara and Maaden Petrochemicals Co. (SAMAPCO) plant, according to a bourse statement.
Operations restarted at the plant as of today, the statement added.
The regular maintenance works will reflect positively on the plant’s efficiency, reliability and will cut costs, in line with the future operational plans.
The relevant financial impact, which hinges on the actual maintenance duration, and average selling prices, will reflect on Q2 2021 financials.
In May 2021, Sipchem announced the temporary shutdown of its affiliate, SAMAPCO, for 27 days from May 23. SAMAPCO’s feedstock of ethylene is supplied by the Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Co. (SEPC) cracker, Argaam reported. On June 20, National Industrialization Co. (Tasnee) announced restarting operations at the ethylene and polyethylene plants of SEPC, following the completion of the scheduled periodic maintenance.
