Gulf Union Alahlia receives SAMA approval to sell insurance products online

Gulf Union Alahlia Cooperative Insurance Co. (Gulf Union) received today, June 28, the Saudi Central Bank’s (SAMA) approval on transferring the online insurance activities from Al Ahlia Cooperative Insurance Co. (previously) to Gulf Union Alahlia Cooperative Insurance Co.

 

The approval will allow the company to sell its products - medical malpractice insurance, travel insurance, third-party liability motor insurance and comprehensive motor insurance – through its website, according to a bourse filing.

 

The insurer clarified that travel insurance does not cover COVID-19.
