Saudi Industrial Investment Group’s (SIIG) board of directors approved appointing Khalil bin Ibrahim Al-Watban as the representative of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), effective from July 1.
The decision was based on a letter from GOSI to SIIG, and its request to appoint Al-Watban (non-executive member) as its representative on the board of directors.
Al-Watban replaces Bandar Suleiman Al-Ghafees (non-executive member), the company said in a bourse statement.
The approval of the board is not final, and the appointment will be presented to the first meeting of the general assembly.
Al-Watban is currently the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economy and Planning for Sectoral and Regional Development Affairs. He previously worked in Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) and its subsidiaries, including President of Alpha Project Development Co., and Vice President for Projects and Engineering at Marafiq.
He also worked for Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) and its subsidiaries and holds a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
