National rules of origin to boost competition, industrial capabilities in GCC: minister

The Ministry of Finance’s approval of the national rules of origin will help enhance fair competition and boost local industrial capabilities in the GCC, Bandar Alkhorayef, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, said on his official Twitter account.

 

“The approval of the national rules of origin will further bolster the GCC countries’ competitiveness regionally and globally,” he added.

 

Mohammed Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance and Chairman of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), approved on July 3, the national rules of origin, Argaam reported.

 

The decision came after coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Commerce, and the General Authority for Foreign Trade. It is effective from the issuance date until the decision of unified Gulf rules of origin is issued and comes into effect.
