Hajj season will begin today, July 18, with 60,000 pilgrims of nationals and residents within Saudi Arabia, due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Those wishing to perform Hajj must be free of any chronic diseases, and also within the age between 18-65 years for those vaccinated against the virus.

The competent authorities thoroughly studied all indicators, mapping out a new model, which will comply with the highest healthcare criteria, and will come in line with the Kingdom’s measures to maintain the pilgrims’ safety.

Last year’s Hajj pilgrim numbers were limited to around 10,000 to protect public health in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Argaam reported.
