The decision to localize closed commercial complexes will create 15,000 jobs, according to Majed Aldahwi, Deputy Minister for Localization, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD).

Since the decision was announced and before it came into force, as many as 4,000 jobs have been localized in the sector, Al-Dahwi said in an interview with CNBC Arabia.

The adherence to these decisions is always high in cooperation with the private sector, and the ministry provides support to facilities that face problems in implementing the plans by the human resources system.

The ministry launched 33 localization programs since early 2021, 11 of which have been targeted so far, Al-Dahwi said, expecting the rest to be completed before the end of this year, which will include various activities and sectors.

Saudi Arabia began, on Aug. 4, implementing the decision to localize closed commercial complexes. The decision aims to restrict work at closed commercial complexes and malls, as well as management offices of closed commercial complexes, to Saudis, with the exception of a limited number of activities and professions at these complexes, according to data compiled by Argaam.
