Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health administered a record number of COVID-19 vaccine doses reaching 511,000 on Thursday, Aug. 5, Al Ekhbariya TV channel reported.
The ministry announced that more than 29 million doses were administered, through over 587 vaccination centers across the Kingdom.
The second dose of COVID-19 vaccine is important for the sustainability of immunity and resistance to the virus, the ministry said, calling on all people to receive the two doses to boost protection against severe infection with the virus variants.
Saudi Arabia has administered 29.14 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to date, according to data compiled by Argaam.
