Saudi Electricity Co.’s (SEC) board of directors approved, on Aug. 24, the appointment of Mohammed Abdulrahman Albalaihed as a non-executive board member, according to a bourse filing.
Albalaihed will represent the government of Saudi Arabia on SEC board, in place of Rashid Ibrahim Sharif (non-executive member).
The appointment will be presented for shareholders’ approval at the next general assembly meeting.
Albalaihed is Department Manager at the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and previously worked as Assistant Manager of Direct Investments Department at Saudi Arabian Investment Co. (Sanabil Investments).
He is also a member of SEC’s executive committee, during the current and previous terms of the board.
Albalaihed holds a Master’s degree in business administration and a Bachelor’s degree in finance management. He is also certified as a financial analyst.
