The total white land fee bills issued by the Idle Lands program amounted to 6,500 invoices (payment order) for about 950 plots across cities where the land fee system applies, according to Abdullah Alhammad, Deputy Minister – Lands and Survey at Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing.

The implementation of white land fee invoice came into effect from August 2020, which means that final payment orders must be paid, Alhammad was quoted by Al-Eqtisadiah Newspaper.

He referred to the use of executive judgements to collect fees from the accounts or property of the owners of those lands in the event of non-payment.

The total area of developed land, under development land, and what have been transferred to other owners since the beginning of the Idle Lands program reached over 90 million square meters (sqm), Alhammad added.

The ministry registered about 100 million sqm of idle land, subject to fees, on behalf of its owners who refused to register it with the program after strengthening cooperation with government agencies, such as the Ministry of Justice, municipalities, and the State Properties General Authority.
