Saudi mining sector witnessing major shift, investor demand: Vice Minister

The mining sector in Saudi Arabia is witnessing a significant transformation and a high demand from investors since the launch of the new Mining Investment Law early this year, Khaled Al-Mudaifer, Vice Minister for Mining Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, said.

 

In an interview with Al-Arabiya TV, Al-Mudaifer predicted that there will be an international demand for the sector in the future.

 

He also pointed out that the Kingdom is the fourth largest country in the world for importing minerals, which creates great opportunities for the development of the mining sector in general.

 

According to data available on Argaam, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, endorsed executive regulations of the Mining Investment Law, which came into effect Jan. 1, 2021.
