Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched the Historic Jeddah revival project as part of the historic Jeddah development program, which aims to redevelop the area to become an attractive center for business and cultural projects, and a destination for entrepreneurs.

The project aims to create an integrated environment in historic Jeddah, which provides multiple natural components, including developed waterfronts with a length of 5 km, green spaces and open gardens covering 15% of the total area of Jeddah, within the project area of 2.5 square kilometers.

The project will benefit from these natural components through transforming them into elements that support a healthy, sustainable environment in which the causes of environmental pollution are absent, SPA reported.

In addition, the project will highlight the heritage places within the area, as it is an unparalleled historical site in the Kingdom.

These places include more than 600 heritage buildings, 36 historical mosques, 5 major historical markets, as well as corridors, squares and other key sites such as the old waterfront that was a major route for pilgrims, which will be reconstructed as part of the project.

The project will be implemented in 15 years, during which the Historic Jeddah will be developed according to multiple tracks that include the infrastructure and services, the development of the environmental field, as well as the improvement of the quality of life and enhancing of urban aspects.

These tracks aim to make Historic Jeddah an inspiring site in the region and a global front for the Kingdom by utilizing its heritage sites and unique cultural and urban elements to build a vibrant life in which the creativity potentials of its residents and visitors are available, thus making it an incubator for creativity where Saudi entrepreneurs and artists come together.
