The Transport General Authority (TGA), in partnership with the General Directorate of Traffic and the General Authority of Ports, announced a program to regulate the entry of trucks to the main cities in the Kingdom, according to several stages, the first of which will begin in Jeddah.

The entry of trucks will be through booking electronic appointments at specific and scheduled times, in order to contribute to regulating the flow of trucks, preventing their accumulation at city entrances and raising the level of quality and efficiency of transportation, SPA reported, citing a statement.

Furthermore, the program will enable those operating in land transportation of goods to avoid times of blocking, peak periods and traffic congestion on the main roads in cities, which will contribute to reducing long waiting periods for truck drivers, the statement added.

In addition, the program will allow more integration and better work in the management and organization of the movement of all trucks in the Kingdom, TGA added.
