Saudi holdings of US Treasuries grow to $128.1 bln in July

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $128.1 billion in July 2021, up by $311 million month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed.

 

The Kingdom retreated to the 16th place among the largest holders of US debt in July.

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds of $102.2 billion, representing 80% of the total, and short-term bonds of $25.9 billion, accounting for 20%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds in July with a value of $1.3102 trillion, followed by China and the United Kingdom with a value of $1.0683 trillion and $539.5 billion, respectively, as the following table shows:
