Foreign investors buy SAR 17 bln worth of stocks on Tadawul in 9M 2021

Foreign investors were net buyers of shares worth SAR 17.02 billion during the first nine months of 2021, a rise of 14%, compared to SAR 14.90 billion in the year-earlier period.

Total foreign purchases hit SAR 134.56 billion in 9M 2021, while total sales amounted to SAR 117.56 billion in the same period, according to data issued by Tadawul.

The data includes swap agreements, qualified foreign investors (QFIs), resident investors, managed portfolios, and strategic partners.

April witnessed the highest net foreign purchases of SAR 3.68 billion followed with March with a value of SAR 3.52 billion.

Meanwhile, Saudi retail investors were net sellers of shares worth SAR 24.07 billion during the nine-month period of 2021, compared to SAR 20.35 billion in the same period last year.

Saudi investors bought and sold shares at a total value of SAR 1.5335 trillion and SAR 1.5576 trillion, respectively.

The retail investors include normal retail investors, major retail investors, specialized retail investors and managed portfolios.

April witnessed the highest net sales from retail investors worth SAR 7.3 billion, followed by March with SAR 6 billion, as shown in the following table:
