The applications received via e-platform Ehkaam exceeded expectations, reaching nearly 500,000 so far, Al Arabiya TV reported, citing Ihsan Bafakih, Governor of State Properties General Authority (SPGA).

Certain regions, such as in Makkah, Madinah and Aseer, have a large number of applications, Bafakih said.

He added that applications are reviewed by 14 committees in different regions across the Kingdom, in addition to three central committees in Riyadh that review applications from technical, formal and Shariah aspects.

In December 2020, SPGA launched its e-platform Ehkaam to receive property ownership applications, Argaam reported.

Last March, SPGA started reviewing ownership applications and studying them from the technical and Shariah aspects.
