Aseer Development Authority (ASDA) will focus on planning projects over the coming period, CNBC Arabia TV reported, citing Sultan Zomaia, Strategy Director.

ASDA aims to have a full view of the region and determine the locations that the Aseer strategy will focus on.

ASDA is looking to put the strategy into effect as soon as possible.

The Aseer strategy mainly focuses on the tourism sector. Accordingly, ASDA is looking to attract a large number of investors in the fields of hotels, hospitality, tourism and rural resorts. It will also work on enabling infrastructure projects to become high-quality, world-class investments.

Aseer province is ready to receive local and international investors, said the official, stressing that a large number of investors showed interest in the province.

He also indicated that the authority is working closely with the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to turn the province into a world-class tourist destination, noting that the fund has several projects that are different from the main projects in the strategy.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman recently launched the strategy to develop Aseer region into a global tourism destination under the theme "The Arabian Highland".

The strategy aims to achieve a "comprehensive, unprecedented and sustainable growth for the region" through an investment of SAR 50 billion to finance vital projects and develop tourism attractions on and around the peaks of the Aseer mountains, according to data available with Argaam.
