CMA develops updated version of investor protection guide

The Capital Market Authority (CMA) announced that, in continuation of its role in regulating and developing the financial market and protecting investors, it has developed an updated version of the investor protection guide.

 

This comes as a complementary step to the efforts exerted within its strategic initiatives through one of its main axes represented in enhancing confidence in the financial market, said the market regulator.

 

It added that it seeks to protect investors in securities from unfair or improper practices, as well as maintain financial market integrity and develop procedures to reduce the risks associated with securities transactions.

 

The investor protection guide, in its updated version, limits the risks associated with securities transactions, contributes to protecting investors from unfair or improper practices, and raises the level of awareness of clients of financial market institutions through a number of instructions and advice, which are governed by the relationship between the investor and the financial market institution, said Ali bin Suleiman Al-Dakhil, Director General of for Communication and Investor Protection, CMA.

 

The official added that the guide a set of instructions and advice for shareholders in listed companies that guarantee the framework of the relationship between the shareholder and the company. He added that this guide is not a substitute for the provisions of the Capital Market Law and its implementing regulations or CMA's rules and regulations.
