Saudi Automotive Services Co. (SASCO) received, on Oct. 26, 2021, a statement from the company’s Zakat consultant regarding letters from the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) to amend the Zakat declarations for years 2014 to 2018.
In a statement to Tadawul, SASCO said this was in addition to an email received from the General Secretariat of the Tax Committees (GSTC) stating that the case was dismissed, as the grievance was submitted to the special committee after the statutory period.
The department set 30 days as the deadline for receiving a copy of the decision. SASCO has the right to appeal within 30 days of receiving the copy of the decision.
Accordingly, the company will appeal the decision within the statutory period, the statement said, adding that the financial impact will be determined later.
SASCO expects to complete the process within three months, it said, noting that any further developments will be announced in due course.
In December 2020, SASCO received letters from ZATCA requiring it to adjust its Zakat reports for the period from 2014 to 2018, and pay Zakat differences worth SAR 12.33 million, Argaam reported
