Saudi holdings of US Treasuries rise to $124.3 bln in September

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries reached $124.3 billion in September, up $195 million month-on-month, new data released by the US Treasury showed. 

 

The Kingdom maintained its ranking at the 17th place among the largest holders of US debt in September. 

 

Saudi Arabia’s holdings of US Treasuries were distributed among long-term bonds worth $100.4 billion, representing 81% of the total, and short-term bonds worth $23.9 billion, accounting for 19%.

Japan was the top holder of US Treasury bonds in September with a value of $1.2996 trillion, followed by China and the United Kingdom with a value of $1.0476 trillion and $566.5 billion, respectively, as the following table shows:
