Jeddah Islamic Port
Saudi Arabia’s merchandize imports rose by 9% year-on-year (YoY) in September to SAR 45.8 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports fell by SAR 5.66 billion, or 11% in September, compared to August.

The increase in the Kingdom’s imports in September was driven by a SAR 1.33 billion, or 16% hike, in its imports of machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical equipment and parts thereof, as well as a 18% rise in products of the chemical or allied industries or by SAR 738.6 billion.
Meanwhile, Saudi imports of vegetable products decreased by SAR 444.3 million, and live animals and animal products retreated by SAR 120.5 million, as the following table shows:

The US and the United Arab Emirates came in the second and third positions at 9% and 7%, respectively.
