Saudi Chemical Company Holding (SCCH) signed on Dec. 4, through its subsidiary AJA Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (AJA Pharma), a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore the possibility of manufacturing Sanofi’s Clexane prefilled syringes in Saudi Arabia.

Clexane is a therapeutic solution that prevents and treats thrombosis, and could also be used to prevent blood clots in a significant percentage of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms.

Under the MoU, AJA Pharma will provide manufacturing facilities and systems that function efficiently, safely, and reliably to produce Clexane prefilled syringes and expand its services in the Saudi market, SCCH said in a statement to Tadawul.

SCCH is keen to invest in vital sectors and value-added projects to serve and meet the community needs, contribute to local industries diversification, increase local content and drive economic development towards realizing Vision 2030 goals.

SCCH added there are no related parties to the deal, noting that it is currently difficult to estimate the financial impact of this announcement.
