Saudi retail mortgage loans fall 3% to SAR 11.79 bln in October: SAMA

Mortgage loans provided to retail clients by banks in Saudi Arabia declined 3% year-on-year (YoY) to SAR 11.79 billion in October, data issued by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.

 

When compared to September, mortgage loans fell by around SAR 465 million in October.

Villa mortgages came on top, accounting for 78%, or SAR 9.15 billion, of total housing loans provided in October.

 

Apartments and land plots followed with SAR 2.27 billion and SAR 376 million, respectively.
