The General Authority for Competition (GAC) agreed on Nov. 28 to launch investigations into the possible violation of the Competition Law and its executive regulations by at least two establishments operating in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

GAC board of directors also approved to start a probe into a potential cartel formed by nine facilities operating in the contracting sector to win tenders in a government project.

The authority also decided to file a claim against three firms operating in the engineering consultation field, and bring another claim against two car tyre dealers.

On the other hand, GAC rejected an application for economic concentration between Delivery Hero and The Chefz, as both parties failed to complete the required procedures.
