Jeddah Islamic Port
Saudi Arabia’s merchandize imports rose by 18% year-on-year (YoY) in the third quarter of 2021 to SAR 144.6 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports grew by SAR 2.23 billion, or 2%, in Q3 2021, compared to Q2 2021.

The increase in the Kingdom’s imports in Q3 2021 was driven by a 58% (SAR 9.27 billion) increase in its imports of vehicles, aircraft, vessels and associated transport equipment and a 48% (SAR 2.79 billion) rise in mineral products. Imports of products of the chemical or allied industries also increased by 17% (SAR 2.22 billion).

China topped the Kingdom's list of countries for imports, amounting to SAR 30.9 billion, accounting for 21% of the total value of imports in Q3 2021.
The US and the United Arab Emirates followed in the second and third positions at 10% and 7%, respectively.
