SWCC to contribute SAR 4 bln to GDP, create 300 job opportunities by 2030

Saudi Arabia's Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) stated that the commercial investment of brine water as well as the localization and transfer of reverse osmosis membranes knowledge will contribute more than SAR 4 billion to the gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030.

 

They will also create almost 300 job opportunities during this period, Saudi Press Agency reported.

 

In a press conference, SWCC Governor Abdullah Al-Abdul-Karim said working with partners in the public sectors aims to benefit from the Kingdom’s leadership globally in the desalination industry, and to provide national products supporting the GDP in the coming years.

 

He added that the localization of the reverse osmosis membranes industry is attributed to the fact that this is a key product and will have a promising market over the coming years. In addition, the need for water desalination will increase in several countries.
