Saudi Arabian banknotes
Credit facilities extended to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) rose by 14% to SAR 200.4 billion in Q3 2021, from SAR 175.7 billion in Q3 2020, data from the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) showed.
Accordingly, the value of the facilities provided to MSMEs exceeds SAR 200 billion for the first time since start of publishing data by SAMA.
Banks accounted for SAR 186.2 billion worth of credit facilities, or 93% of total financing. Facilities given by financing institutions stood at SAR 14.2 billion, or 7% of total credit facilities.
