Saudi Arabia’s merchandize imports increased by 8% year-on-year (YoY) in October to SAR 46.3 billion, according to data issued by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
Imports fell by 2%, or nearly SAR 1.13 billion in October, compared to September.

The jump in the Kingdom’s imports in October was primarily driven by an increase of 191%, or SAR 1.28 billion, in imports of natural or cultured pearls and precious or semi-precious stones, and a rise of 68%, or SAR 1.15 billion, in the imports of the mineral products.
