Health Ministry rules out stricter lockdown measures as COVID-19 cases rise

Saudi Ministry of Health ruled out the possibility of imposing stricter lockdown measures as coronavirus infections cases are rising, according to official spokesperson, Muhammad Al-Abdulaali.

 

The Kingdom achieved great strides, the most significant of which is reaching higher levels of herd immunity via vaccinations and booster jabs, Al-Abdulaali said in a TV interview, adding that reimposing the lockdown measures is unlikely.

 

He also pointed out that people who will get the booster shots will be highly protected from the infection and that pandemic deaths and hospitalized cases are of those who were unvaccinated.

 

Al-Abdulaali requested all people to comply with the precautionary measures and to get the vaccine double shots and booster doses to curb the pandemic outbreak.
