Tadawul trading hall
Qualified foreign investors (QFIs) were net purchasers of SAR 25.5 billion worth of stocks on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) in 2021, up by 36% year-on-year (YoY), compared to SAR 18.75 billion in 2020, according to data issued by the Saudi bourse.
Foreign investors bought SAR 187.88 billion worth of shares and sold shares at a total value of SAR 162.34 billion in 2021.
QFIs include SWAP agreements, qualified investors, resident investors, discretionary portfolio management (DPMs), and strategic partners.
Foreign investors recorded the highest purchase in December at SAR 5.45 billion.
April recorded the second highest value of net foreign purchases with SAR 3.68 billion.

Net sales of Saudi individuals in all categories amounted to SAR 22.26 billion in 2021, compared to SAR 31.8 billion a year earlier.
Net purchases by Saudi investors stood at SAR 1.8867 trillion, against net sales worth SAR 1.908 trillion.
Saudi investors include retail investors, high net worth investors, individual professional investors, and individual DPMs.
April recorded the highest net retail sales worth SAR 7.3 billion, followed by March with SAR 6 billion.
