Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman set clear objectives for the tourism industry until 2030, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb said on his official Twitter account.
Al Khateeb indicated that Crown Prince provided the required tools, and it is their turn to fulfill them.
Saudi Arabia seeks tourism to contribute 10% to its gross domestic product (GDP) by 2030, receive 100 million tourists per annum and provide one million jobs, said the minister.
The ministry has ambitious employees with a clear vision and certain annual targets, said Al Khateeb, adding that they all work to reach a Saudi touristic integrated experience for both citizens and visitors.
Domestic tourism recorded remarkable performance in 2021, with SAR 80 billion in spending on 60 million overnight trips.
Al Khateeb also spoke of the recovery of the Kingdom’s inbound tourism in addition to the training of 137,000 Saudis in different fields and 2,000 Saudis in the field of entrepreneurship.
