Saudi Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman said that supplying the world with energy should take into account the preservation of energy security, as well as the use of all diverse energy sources, including hydrocarbons, fossil fuel, renewables and hydrogen.
Speaking in a session during Davos online event, Davos Agenda, the minister added that energy security, economic growth and economic sustainability cannot be sacrificed, stressing the necessity to consider climate change. He also indicated that the goals of energy security and sustainable growth for the global economy, and the goals of overcoming climate change can only be achieved through this.
Countries should be free to choose what suits them as an energy source based on their natural resources, as the circular carbon economy can achieve all the required results, including reducing emissions for all gases. Moreover, all countries should use their available means and create a new way to achieve energy security, said the minister.
The minister further pointed out that the Kingdom is fully prepared to cooperate with regard to fossil fuels and hydrocarbons, by creating the appropriate environment for green and blue hydrogen, stressing that the Kingdom seeks to lead the global green hydrogen market.
