The Saudi Ministry of Investment closed 112 investment deals worth nearly SAR 50 billion in 2021.

 

The number of new investors is on the rise, the ministry said in the “Economic and Investment Monitor” report, adding that the existing investors are seeking to expand their operations in the Kingdom.

 

The deals were concluded in 12 sectors, the ministry noted, expecting them to provide almost 31,000 new jobs.

 

Entrepreneurship and innovation sector led the way with 40 deals, or 36% of total transactions. Tourism and quality of life came second with 22 deals, followed by energy and water with 10 deals.

On the other hand, the UAE, China, Egypt, and the UK were the top investors in Saudi Arabia, with a total of 47 deals, or 42% of total transactions in 2021, the report added.
