Maaden names Robert Wilt as CEO

The board of directors of Saudi Arabian Mining Co. (Maaden) appointed, on Jan. 20, Robert Wilt (Bob) as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective Feb. 1, 2022.

 

Meanwhile, the tenure of Abdulaziz Al Harbi as acting CEO will end as of Jan. 31, 2022, and will be appointed as Deputy CEO for Maaden, the company said in a bourse statement.

 

Wilt holds a Bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the US Military Academy and a Master’s degree in business administration from Harvard University.He carries with him over 30 years of management experience.

 

The new CEO joined Alcoa Inc. and held several positions, as he served as the Executive Vice President of Energy Development and Vice President for Operations, until he assumed the post of the Vice President of Global Primary Products. He recently held the position of CEO at Sofina Foods Canadian Inc., the statement added.

 

In a separate statement, Maaden announced appointing Wilt as an executive board member, indicating that the board approval may not be deemed final and is pending approval by the company’s general assembly.
