Cornerstone laying ceremony

Ahmed AlHussain, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Royal Commission for Jubail (RCJ), laid today, Jan. 27, the cornerstone for SNAM - the Kingdom's first car assembly factory.

In 2019, Saudi National Automotive Manufacturing Co. (SNAM) and South Korea’s SsangYong Motor Co. signed a deal to build a vehicles factory in Jubail Industrial City II, Argaam earlier reported.

Fahd S. Al-Dohish, President and CEO of SNAM, said the factory construction agreement has several phases, from car assembly to full manufacturing and production of spare parts.

Upon reaching the full production target of 30,000 units, the new facility will provide 750 direct jobs at the plant and 2,000 indirect jobs in Jubail City.
