Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Commerce issued 11,350 commercial registers for the e-commerce industry in 2021, bringing the total number to 29,410, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported, citing a ministerial statement.
The ministry also detected 185 violations from the online sellers last year, including incorrect data, delayed delivery, in addition to violations as regards exchange and refund.
The ministry is monitoring the e-platforms and violators may be slammed with up to SAR 1 million in fine and may face business suspension or closure.
