HRSD Ministry, SAMA to apply insurance to domestic labor contracts within 2 months: report

Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) and the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) will start applying insurance to domestic labor contracts this month or in April, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported.

 

The ministry is close to finalizing the required paperwork, including linking insurance services providers on “Musaned” platform for the recruitment of domestic workers, and is also about to make a decision on this matter soon.

 

The insurance on domestic labor contracts will compensate employers for the recruitment costs in case workers run away or abstain from work in the remaining contract term after the expiry of the three-month probation.

Meanwhile, the insurance policy will compensate domestic workers for overdue salaries.

 

The insurance will be optional for beneficiaries wishing to recruit domestic workers.
