Makkah Royal Commission, Elm ink agreement to develop digital transportation system

The Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites (RCMC) signed today, March 21, an agreement with Elm Co., to develop an integrated digital and logistical system that integrates with the various transportation tools in Makkah. 
 

The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Conference and Exhibition of Hajj and Umrah Services that is held in Jeddah, Saudi Press Agency reported. 
 

Abdulrahman Addas, CEO of the Royal Commission, said the agreement comes through the Unified Center for Transport (Makkah Transport), as it seeks to unify planning for various transportation projects to ensure the required capacity.  
 

The agreement includes some services and projects, including an operation center to manage the mobility in Makkah as well as other services that will contribute to promoting economic diversification and developing services in Makkah region and the holy sites.
 

Abdulrahman Aljadhai, CEO of Elm, said the agreement aims to provide an integrated digital and logistical system that integrates with the various transportation tools in Makkah.
 

He added that the agreement mainly focuses on the application of the mobility as a service (MaaS) concept, which aims to increase the efficiency of the transportation network and its absorptive capacity, as well as ensure a smooth experience for all transport users.
