The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) announced, at the closing session of its global summit held in Manila, that the 22nd session of the summit will be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Nov. 29, Saudi Press Agency reported.

The Manila summit was attended by more than 1000 high-level delegations from around the world, including business leaders, ministers and decision-makers in the global travel and tourism sector. They exchanged views and ideas on how to enhance the sector's recovery journey.

Julia Simpson, President and CEO of WTTC, said the council and an elite group of leaders in the global travel and tourism sector are committed to paving the way for a bright, secure and sustainable future.

At the summit, they exchanged the best practices and ideas that will contribute to enhancing the sector's recovery journey and accelerating the global economic development over the next century through providing more than 126 million job opportunities.

The 22nd edition of the summit, to be held in Riyadh, will shed light on the next stage of the sector's recovery journey, Simpson said.

She added that the Kingdom represents an ambitious destination that aims to shape the tourism sector to become more flexible, inclusive and sustainable.

“We look forward to welcoming global travel and tourism leaders to the Kingdom as well as exchanging experiences and knowledge with them,” Simpson concluded.
