Saudi Arabia’s Human Resources Development Fund (Hadaf) disclosed that over 61,000 male and female graduate students – holding either a diploma, bachelor's degree or higher – benefited from the on-the-job training program (Tamheer) since its launch in 2017.

The percentage of female beneficiaries of the Tamheer program stood at 74%, while the male percentage reached 26%. Riyadh, Makkah, and the Eastern Province were the top three regions in terms of the number of beneficiaries.

Tamheer program aims to enable national cadres to acquire the expertise and skills required for the labor market through practical training at actual work sites, in accordance with their major field of study.

The program also contributes to raising their employability and stimulates private sector to attract trained national cadres, after they complete the training phase.

Meanwhile, Tamheer provides a financial reward of SAR 2,000 for graduate diploma holders from technical, health and administrative institutes and colleges, and SAR 3,000 for bachelor’s degree and above. In addition, it also bears the insurance for trainees against work hazards.

The training period ranges from three to six months, during which graduates are trained in the public and private sectors to acquire the skills necessary for the labor market. The trainee obtains an experience certificate on finishing the program.
