The Japanese engineering company JGC Holdings Corporation announced that its subsidiary, JGC Arabia Limited, was awarded a contract by Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) to carry out engineering and construction work for the central processing facilities in Zuluf field.

Saudi Aramco is working on this project to meet the growing global demand for energy, JGC added in a statement.

Zuluf field’s expansion will increase the field’s production to 600,000 barrels per day (B/D) to process the extraction of Arabian heavy crude oil, data compiled by Argaam showed.

The offshore oil field currently produces about 500,000 B/D, as it includes three gas-oil separation plants.
