Sahara International Petrochemical Co. (Sipchem) will shut down the International Acetyl Co. (IAC) plant for scheduled maintenance as of tomorrow, June 2.

The move will contribute to enhancing the reliability of the plant and allow IAC to achieve its future operational plans, according to a bourse filing today, June 1.

This scheduled periodic maintenance will run for three weeks, in accordance with the company's 2022 business plan, Sipchem stated.

The financial impact of this shutdown will depend on the actual duration of the process and average product selling prices and will show in Q2 2022, the company added.

Sipchem also said that necessary actions have been taken to limit the turnaround maintenance’s potential impact on its customers, noting that any material updates in this regard will be announced in due course.
