Cabinet approves establishment of Health Holding, insurance center's regulation

The Cabinet's approval for the establishment of Health Holding Co. and the organization of National Health Insurance Center will enable the effective performance of the health system, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, citing Minister of Health Fahad Al-Jalajel.

The Ministry of Health will be the regulator and supervisor of public and private health institutions, he stated.

Health clusters will be responsible for providing integrated health care services to beneficiaries in all regions of the Kingdom in line with the modern health care model at its various levels.

These clusters will implement a set of transformational programs aimed at promoting community health, prevention, and early detection of diseases and health risks.

Al-Jalajel indicated that this decision lays the systemic foundations for implementing the transformation strategy in the Ministry of Health, which will take place in successive stages over the coming years.

This will raise the quality and efficiency of services provided to beneficiaries through primary health care development programs such as a doctor for every family and chronic disease care, specialized care services development, and critical care services development to ensure the speedy handling of heart and brain clots and injuries.

The ministry aims to expand digital health programs and virtual medical care services, Al-Jalajel affirmed.

He pointed out that the decision reflects the leadership support to develop healthcare services provided to citizens and residents by harnessing all capabilities to enhance the quality and efficiency of those services in line with the Vision 2030 objectives.
