Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Saudi Aramco) announced that the US Supreme Court turned down on May 31 the appeal submitted by the heirs of Khalid Al-Qarqani, according to a bourse statement.

Accordingly, the case is closed, as the previous court order has become final.

In December 2021, the oil giant announced that the Court of Appeals unanimously ruled in its favor in the appeal filed by Al-Qarqani heirs, according to data available with Argaam.

On Nov. 17, 2020, the oil producer received a favorable ruling from US District Court for Southern District of Texas on dismissing the case brought by Al-Qarqani heirs to enforce a roughly $18 billion (SAR 67.3 billion) purported foreign arbitral award.
